Fospice (foster + hospice) is a beautiful program that provides palliative care to terminally ill animals.
With your help, our vet team can provide expert care and medications free of charge, while big-hearted fospice carers provide a loving home, cosy bed, and lots of TLC.
Depending on their diagnosis, a fospice animal may have a matter of weeks or months, or just like humans, they might beat the odds and go on to live far longer than expected.
No matter how long they have, with your kindness, these animals can experience comfort and joy, sometimes for the first time.
Up to 40 animals join the RSPCA SA fospice program each year – many are seniors, but some are younger animals who have been diagnosed with a terminal condition like heart disease or cancer.
The bittersweet reality that comes with helping the state’s most vulnerable animals is that we can’t save them all.
But together, we can shower them with love for whatever precious time they have left.
Please make a compassionate gift today to help cover the costs of end-of-life care for fospice animals, including veterinary consults, diagnostic tests and medications.
While their lives may not be long, they can be full of love – thanks to you.
Thank you to these big-hearted animal lovers!
